Johnny Appleseed Discovery Day

Today we had a great time learning about Johnny Appleseed and doing some scientific explorations using apples. We measured how tall we are in apples, used apples to create patterns, and even learned about the many varieties of apples. I think our favorite part about being scientists was discovering how we can use all five of our senses to make observations about apples. We compared the look, touch, taste, smell, and sound of yellow, green, and red apples! We loved biting into each type to discover what made each a different experience. We even voted on which apples were our favorite by placing colored apples in our Kindergarten "apple orchard" in our hallway!

Spring has Sprung!

During Miss Hatcher's Math Station time the kids had fun sorting some spring addition and subtraction problems. We also practiced addition by rolling dice and adding the numbers together. They just love the hands on math :)
